How to grow
Direct sow in spring in deep, loose, well-drained soil for straight roots, keeping the soil moist until the slow seeds germinate. Grow in full sun. Once foliage dies back, loosen the soil with a fork and pull roots straight up by the tops. A frost improves the sweetness.

Sweet and nutty, growing richer after a fall frost.
