Electric Uncapping Knife with Thermostat Control

The Electric Uncapping Knife with Thermostat Control is a heated stainless steel blade for opening honeycomb cells during harvest. The warm blade glides through wax cappings cleanly so honey flows freely when frames are spun, and an adjustable thermostat lets you dial in the right temperature.

At a glance

• Type: Heated electric uncapping knife
• Blade: Stainless steel, fits both medium and deep frames
• Temperature: Adjustable thermostat control
• Controls: Built-in temperature dial and timer
• Power: Standard 120-volt outlet
• Result: Removes cappings without cutting away excess wax

Best for

• Uncapping frames before extraction
• Beekeepers harvesting honey in a honey house
• Working through many frames at a steady blade temperature
• Clean uncapping with minimal wax loss

How to use

Plug the knife into a standard 120-volt outlet and set the thermostat to your preferred temperature, using the dial and timer to keep the blade warm as you work. Run the heated blade along the face of the frame to shave off the wax cappings, then move the frame to your extractor. Let the blade reach temperature before starting for the smoothest cut.
