Borage (Borago officinalis) is an attractive annual herb that produces cucumber-flavored leaves and clusters of star-shaped blue flowers with white centers. Surprisingly large for the size of its blooms, it grows 1 to 2 feet tall and is as at home in containers as in the garden bed.
